KRey moved to New York City from Minneapolis to pursue a musical and art career and soon after met the singer Adele Bertei. Together they started the all girl rock & roll band  “The Bloods” which was one of the first female R & R bands who were openly gay. The Bloods played in the U.S and Europe often, playing in their NYC hometown at such notable venues as CBGB’s, The Mud Club, Webster Hall, Hurrahs, Peppermint Lounge as well as sharing bills with The Clash, Gang of Four, Richard Hell, Johnny Thunders, The Slits, The Au Pairs, Duran Duran and The Go-Gos. While in England they recorded two songs: Button-up and Raimen issued on British Post punk band the Au Pairs’ Exit label. Button Up was named Single of the Week by Britain's New Musical Express upon its release. Button Up is also on the CD "New York Noise” from the New York Underground 1978 - 1982 CD released on Soul Jazz Records in 2010. They were handpicked to open for The Clash during their iconic & legendary shows at Bonds. The Clash played a series of 17 concerts at Bond International Casino in New York City in support of their album Sandinista!. The Bloods also appeared and contributed songs to the iconic cult film “Born in Flames” by Lizzie Borden. After the break-up of The Bloods KRey continued playing in numerous bands including The Gift with Cynthia Sley and Laura Kennedy from the Bush Tetras and later reunited with Adele to form the band Alice which also included Pat Place from the Bush Tetras. She also played with The Renegade Lost Girls with Helen Hook & Nedra Johnson. In the mid nineties she joined the band Transistors as lead guitarist with iconic Trans singer and AIDS activist Chloe Dzubilo. They released a CD titled "Transisters Goddesses of Pink Rock". KRey also toured in the US, Canada and Haiti with the first all female Haitian Band “Riske”. The band was up for an award for best Creole album at the third annual Caribbean Music Awards held at the Apollo Theater in New York City which was televised and where they also performed. KRey is also a serious songwriter and is currently working with The Bloods former bass player Brenda Alderman on music that will be released in 2018.
